My Favorite Things! Will Oprah Winfrey be here? Camping Necessities


Dear Friends,

We have been preparing for our travels to Florida. We took a few day off from our travels to downsize some more in preparation for our full time adventures. I have been going thru my extremely stuffed closet to get rid of things. And let me tell you it has been difficult to part things. I really don't understand it, everything that I've donated were things I have not used in ages. It seems like everything I pick up has a memory. I had to remind myself that getting rid of stuff does not mean your getting rid of your memories. Each task of downsizing we complete gets us closer to our goal.

Our last trip was relatively easy to conquer with very little material things. As a matter of fact it was rather refreshing. It seemed so much less stressful, decisions were easier to make. There wasn't the half hour task of what am I going to wear, which shoes should I wear. Not the two hour what should I make for dinner tonight. Nice, with less choices decisions are a breeze.

We are planning on staying out longer on this trip. This should give us a better understanding of what we can live without. Because like many, we have materialistic things that are not necessary for comfort or survival. We will keep everyone posted on our progress. Until next time peace out.

Our First Camping Trip Before Full Timing

When we decided we wanted to try to full time in our pop-up camper everyone we knew thought we lost our minds. We on the other hand, thought it would be adventurous. We didn't know of anyone who had ever attempted this, but we were sure it was doable. So we started taking camping trips to get the feel for what we would need to full time. Or better what we could live without. Anyway this ways the very first trip.

Pop-Up Campers VS Travel Trailers

We are often asked if we will upgrade to a travel trailer. Or why we choose a pop-up camper for our adventure. The answer for us is pretty simplistic, to get closer to nature. The pop-up camper gives you much the same experience as tent camping would. It is however more convenient, most have a small kitchen sink, stove and refrigerator. They have a dinning area and your not sleeping on the ground. Travel trailers on the other hand are like tiny houses on wheels. I believe for us it would be to comfortable. I believe we would spend too much time in the comfort of a travel trailer and less time exploring nature. Not to say that as we age more we wouldn't get something more comfortable. I am going to say that at this time in our life the pop-up is the perfect choice for our adventure. It gives us all the comforts we need. We can fit her in tiny spots that would be difficult to fit a trailer. She is easy to tow, we can see all around her when on the road. Most of all she is home!...
