The Great Flood of 2017

It is raining here in Mississippi, which got me thinking of the flooding in we left in Missouri. We have been in Mississippi for ten days now. Anyway we had to  finalize some business in Missouri to go full scale pop-up living. A few days after we got to Missouri it started to rain and it rained for days. We found ourselves stuck in the middle of a flood and it looked like we had no way out of the state. Major highways were being shut down in every direction it seemed like. Needless to say we researched and found our way out of the flood and once again hit the road.

Pop-Up Campers VS Travel Trailers

We are often asked if we will upgrade to a travel trailer. Or why we choose a pop-up camper for our adventure. The answer for us is pretty simplistic, to get closer to nature. The pop-up camper gives you much the same experience as tent camping would. It is however more convenient, most have a small kitchen sink, stove and refrigerator. They have a dinning area and your not sleeping on the ground. Travel trailers on the other hand are like tiny houses on wheels. I believe for us it would be to comfortable. I believe we would spend too much time in the comfort of a travel trailer and less time exploring nature. Not to say that as we age more we wouldn't get something more comfortable. I am going to say that at this time in our life the pop-up is the perfect choice for our adventure. It gives us all the comforts we need. We can fit her in tiny spots that would be difficult to fit a trailer. She is easy to tow, we can see all around her when on the road. Most of all she is home!

Help Becky

My daughter, Becky, has stage 3B-4A Squamous Cell Cervical Cancer. Becky just finished her third week of treatments and still has at least four week to go. Becky has been sick since early spring, she has been to the doctor several times with severe pain and heavy bleeding. At one point they removed three large blood clots and sent her home. Most often they just gave her medication to make her bleed more. Sept. 14, 2017 Becky once again found herself in the emergency room. This time the pain and bleeding was much worse. The doctor decided to do exploratory surgery to find out why she was hemorrhaging. They found a large tumor. They preformed a radical hysterectomy. She was told they were confident it was cancer. About a week later it was confirmed. Becky has since then had several bladder infections. Her bladder has dropped and is causing incontinence. Once she is done with treatments this will have to be taken care. Becky has treatments five days a week, Monday-Friday radiation.
